Healthcare

The Indian constitution considers the ‘right of life’ to be fundamental and requires the government to implement the ‘right of health’ for all. Despite these constitutional assurances, significant inequalities concerning health care access exist between states, rural and urban areas, socio-economic classes, genders and castes. As per The Commonwealth Fund, the upper socio-economic classes secure 50% more health services than the poor. A great amount of disparity also exists when it comes to the availability of hospital beds per population between urban and rural areas. Urban areas have almost twice the number of hospital beds and four times the number of health workers per population as compared to rural areas (Health Care and Equity in India, Y. Balarajan et. al).

Roadmap

While the government is trying to improve accessibility to healthcare, a significant portion of the population does not have access to quality healthcare, especially in rural areas. At Humanix, we believe in addressing these issues via education, assurance and action. We are at the forefront when it comes to raising awareness regarding mental health issues, pre/post- natal well-being, nutrition and self-diagnosis. Our experienced volunteers offer support and guidance to people struggling with mental health issues, natal health or general well-being. Furthermore, we intend to provide medical expenditure cover that includes the cost of medical tests, medicines or even treatment to underprivileged and marginalised individuals.
